About Me

I am Feng-Zhen Liu, a dedicated mezzo-soprano currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Vocal Performance at Michigan State University, where I study under the renowned Professor Jane Bunnell. My journey in music began at Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where I earned both my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance, specializing in Ethnic Vocal Music.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of participating in masterclasses led by distinguished vocalists such as Christiane Hossfeld, Yamina Maamar, and Yuqiang Dai. These experiences, along with the guidance of my mentors, have helped me refine my skills and deepen my understanding of both classical and ethnic vocal traditions.

My performances range from opera scenes and solo recitals to full-scale productions. I have had the honor of performing in Don Giovanni as Cherubino, starring in original musicals such as The Same Youth and To Youth, and playing the lead role in Sister Jiang. These opportunities have enriched my artistic journey, allowing me to explore diverse roles and develop my stage presence.
